Another day in London town, we went rambling on the Hampstead Heath up to Kenwwod House (where a scene from "Notting Hill" was filmed). The best surprise was the fantastic art collection, including an original Rembrandt self portrait and a pice by a seveneteenth century Dutch artist, De Witte I studied at University - quite thrilling for an arty type!!
That night we went to Brick Lane and as you can see from the phots spent a fair bit of time wandering the streets. Brick Lane is where a large bangledeshi community live, the sort of place you might have seen in "Bend it Like Beckham". We had a great time considering the offers of many spruikers, such as 30% off, 40% off, free beer, best curry in the street etc, etc.
We also met up with Phill's cousin Rod, who works in London. He did very well taking the names of an extended Batt family gathering.

Hey Birtleses,
Glad that you both look like you're having fun. IThe forest and Ales sounded particularly nice.
